For your assistance, we have shortlisted the common issues being faced by the game and their possible fixes. So browse through the following listing and you might be able to fix your issue.

Far Cry Primal Errors, Crashes, Sound Issues, Launch Issues and Performance Issues Fixes

#1 Far Cry Primal – Game Won’t Start
There have been reports about the game not launching for some users. There are a few things you can try to fix the issue. First, make sure that you are using the latest GPU drivers. If that doesn’t work the:

  • Make sure that your firewall/security tool isn’t blocking Uplay. You add a filter for it or disable it and see if it works.
  • For some users, keeping the Uplay in offline mode and launching the game from Steam has worked. It’s worth of a shot.
  • If your game crashes with a blink of the black screen, try running the game in compatibility mode.

#2 Far Cry Primal – Sound Issues
If I remember correctly, there were some sound issues with Far Cry 4 too. So you can try this fix as it might very well work for Far Cry Primal as well.

If that doesn’t work, you could follow these steps:

  • Go to the System32 folder and delete some audio files. Since deleting those files could render your system unstable, make sure that you make a backup before deleting. Directx setup however, should recover them.”x3daudio1_0.dll to x3daudio1_7.dll ”
    and
    “XAudio2_0.dll to XAudio2_7.dll” deleted a total of 16 files.
  • Go in the game folder, Far Cry Primal \ Support \ Software \ DirectX and install DXSETUP.
  • After that, restart your PC.

Needless to say that you should make sure that your sound drivers are up to date.

#3 Far Cry Primal – Low FPS/ Poor Performance
Far Cry Primal is definitely a resource hungry game so if you are not getting optimum performance at maxed out settings, you should try to reduce those graphics hungry parameters. Shadows Quality for instance will give you a considerable performance boost if you lower them.

If you are using SLI/Crossfire, try switching to one card only. This can get you better results as SLI/crossfire profiles on launch have been know to cause issues.

If you are on a laptop, just make sure that your machine is plugged in while you are gaming.

#4 Far Cry Primal – Error 88500014, Something Went Wrong
As mentioned in #1, this error is most probably associated with your firewall blocking the client. Add a filter or disable it temporarily to resolve the issue.

#5 Far Cry Primal – Mouse and Keyboard Not Responding
Just make sure that you don’t have any other input peripherals (controllers/sticks) attached to the system. Disconnect them, restart the game and you should be fine.

#6 Far Cry Primal – Game Crashes During Gameplay
If your game is being crashed on a specific instance every time, you need to verify your game files and restart your PC. This should resolve the issue.

#7 Far Cry Primal – Fatal Error File System Failure
If you are getting this error, try running Uplay as Admin and the problem should be resolved. If that doesn’t work, try running the game in compatibility mode.

#8 Far Cry Primal – Weird Colors/Graphics Fix
To fix the issue, you should go to your Nvidia control panel settings and choose physx settings to your processor instead of auto. Restart the game, and it should be fixed.
