Earlier we reported on how there would be an Oculus Rift announcement at the Game Awards 2015. Geoff Keighley has also revealed some more announcements including the world premiere of Baba Yaga for Tomb Raider.
This news was revealed in an update Tweet that announced a pre-show for the event:
Quick @thegameawards update: We are adding a pre-show at 8:30et on Thurs including the world premiere of Baba Yaga for Tomb Raider + more.
— Geoff Keighley (@geoffkeighley) November 30, 2015
These pre-show events often include plenty of interviews with “celebrities” on the red carpet, unless the red carpet section is yet another part of the show. What is more interesting though is that they will have the premiere of the Rise of the Tomb Raider DLC, Baba Yaga: The Temple of The Witch. This DLC promises more adventure for Lara, including battles against infected predators that attack in waves. It also promises a new tomb which is described as a house of ancient terror. We’ll have to wait until Thursday to see what this terror will be.
In another tease, it was also revealed that Mortal Kombat X’s Director Ed Boon will be debuting a new character for the game:
Really looking forward to attending @thegameawards on Thursday with the exclusive reveal of “Who’s Next” in MKX !! pic.twitter.com/BFpIGTK0Er
— Ed Boon (@noobde) November 30, 2015
Just a shame that there is no hint as to who this new character could be. We’ll have to wait and see for this one.
