Death Stranding is Still in Script and Design Phase

Hideo Kojima has gone onto Twitter to say that while he's scripting and designing Death Stranding, he's listening to the newest Low Roar album too.

The development of the Hideo Kojima game Death Stranding appears to be going fairly slowly, if a new tweet from the man himself is to be believed. Kojima recently posted that, while scripting and designing the game, he’s listening to the latest Low Roar album, though there isn’t much more than that.

Hideo Kojima’s Twitter is often a weird place.

The man often posts pictures of various knick knacks he’s bought and anything else that takes his fancy, and while many people know that the game will take a while, it can drive many others to distraction.

We know essentially nothing about the game that Hideo Kojima unveiled at last year’s E3, and which got another trailer at the past VGA show.

We know essentially nothing about it aside from the actors who are starring in it (who include The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus and Hannibal’s Mads Mikkelsen), not even the basic story outline.

Death Stranding is the first IP created by Hideo Kojima’s reconstituted Kojima Productions studio, which was shut down by Konami following a falling-out between him and Konami during the development of Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain.

With both the script and designing the actual game still underway, it’s likely that Death Stranding isn’t going to be ready for several more years.

Earlier statements have said that the game will be coming out sometime around 2019, though without a concrete release date and solid development updates, that date may be in doubt.

Either way, hopefully at this year’s E3 Kojima will give us another trailer that people can guess over. It would be even better if we could be shown some gameplay, but that all depends on how fast the people at Kojima Productions work on it.

Death Stranding will be released exclusively for the Playstation 4 and Playstation 4 Pro.
