It has been a month since the release of Destiny 2 and majority of the players are reaching the end of it all in search of end game content. Sadly, beyond raids and story, there isn’t much to be found in terms of end game content. However, Bungie has made a very interesting comment regarding the end game content.
According to community manager Deej, the true Destiny 2 end game content is….friendship. Yes, you read it right! Nothing beats the friendships you develop in Destiny 2. In a recent post at This Week at Bungie, he wrote that Destiny 2’s real endgame content is the connections you make with other players in the game. Players who make your experience better.
My challenge to every Guardian is to look to the human element in Destiny 2 to fuel your appetite for ultimate re-playability. The ultimate loot is the friendships that can grow out of a game like this. There will be more gear to add to your character (next week, even). The rewards that I’m talking about are the people in the community that thrives in this game. If you let them, they’ll make your hobby as a light-dealing hero on a starside campaign for glory even better.
The statement is interesting and yes, games should be about meeting new people and gaming together as friends. But it also seems like an insult to the dedicated fanbase of this franchise. They paid good money for Destiny 2 content and to hear that its all about friendship is annoying.
Destiny 2 is now available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and will soon release on PC.
