The co-producer of Marvel vs Capcom Infinite, Peter Rosas, has explained why the studio reduced the number of team members from three to two.
Speaking with EDGE, Rosas said that the decision was made in order to make the game more accessible for beginners.
Marvel vs Capcom Infinite Changes
According to Rosas, with three team members, players had to make roughly six decisions before the start of a fight:
Players had to make roughly six decisions before they could fight. The people were looking for two characters, which corresponded to their preference. But the third fighter was chosen solely because of his function – perhaps he had a particularly strong anti-air move or something like that … This selection felt totally superfluous.
Rosas said that in order to make the game friendlier and more accessible to beginners, the team members were reduced to two.
With this, we want to emphasize the feeling for a partnership and loyalty among the fighters.
Lastly, Rosas also confirmed that the studio will share more information regarding the game later down the road.
While the studio has revealed a handful of characters slated to appear in the game. However, we are not satisfied with the current line-up. It goes without saying that the studio will continue to add more characters later down the road, we have jotted down a list of characters that we would like to see featured in the game.
