Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 Rumored To Release In 2020

When talking about Nintendo Switch, there’s one game that stands above all. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is getting a sequel as announced by the company earlier this year and it is bound to be darker than its predecessor. Now, a new rumor surfaces to set the Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 release window to 2020.

The source of this rumor, Twitter user Sabi is a notorious figure in that department, frequently dropping hints that are usually a hit rather than a miss. The latest post claims that Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 will release sometime in 2020, although Nintendo tends to delay the initial release most times.

I would tell you Botw2 is planned to release in 2020, but Zelda release dates are historically delayed, internally or publicly LOL

He went on by clarifying that “this is not a speculation but the state of their current plans”. This gives another layer of credibility to his statement although, as it is, it is nothing more than a rumor. This doesn’t fall behind what other rumors had to say.

Previously, a couple of leakers have said that 2020 will be a great year for Zelda fans. With Zelda: Links Awakening setting the grounds for the next big release, it wouldn’t surprise us if Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2 gets its launch before 2021.

Breath of the Wild 2 takes place two years after Breath of the Wild ended, with Calamity Ganon defeated and peace restored to Hyrule. However, the trailer for the game showed Link and Zelda traveling deep beneath Hyrule Castle, only to find Ganondorf’s corpse waiting.

It will be interesting to see how Nintendo will manage to take everything the first game was appraised for and step it up even more.

Nintendo still hasn’t announced anything regarding the release of Zelda: Breath of the Wild 2. There are a couple of great opportunities for them to do so, during The Game Awards 2019 or E3 2020.
