Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Now has Multi-Disc Support

Since Microsoft launched Xbox One backwards compatibility feature, it has grown significantly as many major Xbox 360 titles are available on Xbox One now. Recently it was announced that Deus Ex Human Revolution Director’s Cut is available on with backwards compatibility. However, it is important to note that this is the first backwards compatible title with multi-disc support.

This feature was previously said to be in the works and it is exciting to see that Microsoft has actually managed to get it done. Official Xbox statement on this feature:

Yes, ‘Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut’ was the first multi-disc Backward Compatible title added to the program. We know fans were asking for this feature and our engineers worked hard developing a solution to enable it so we could further expand the titles included in Xbox One Backward Compatibility. We’re continuing to listen to our fans on Xbox Feedback and work with our publishing partners to grow out library of Xbox One Backward Compatibility titles and will work to include more multi-disc games.

Major Nelson further added:

I can confirm that the BC team has done work to support multi disc scenarios. Be sure to thank the BC engineers.

This means many other major titles will be available on Xbox One backwards compatibility which require multi-disc, the games with multi-discs mostly are the ones that released later on the previous generation. This can includes Mass Effect 2 and 3, Tom Clancy titles or the games with extra material with it like GOTY editions.

Right now Microsoft is working hard to bring its previous generation games to the Xbox one, although there already is a ton of games available on Xbox One which we can enjoy.

We am not saying that Microsoft doesn’t have any new games coming out , but I can’t help but wonder how long Microsoft will keep this up to distract gamers from the lack of new titles on its console.
