You might have been trying to take your mind off Destiny 2 for some time now but Bungie has just made the right move to hype us. Not only they (kind of) confirmed that the next Destiny 2 expansion will be Warmind themed but they did it using famous WWE superstar “The Big Show”.
On his Twitter account, wrestler Paul Wight aka The Big Show has announced his partnership with Destiny 2 in some way, pointing at a Destiny 2 themed t-shirt. His post just reads “Soon……
#Destiny2 Partner” which could mean his involvement with a new expansion, which is highly anticipated or a possible broadcasting or marketing partnership.
The logo on Wight’s t-shirt is the sign of the Warmind, which is supposed to be the theme of the next Destiny 2 expansion. This comes to perfect timing, as rumors have started rising that the next Destiny 2 expansion will roll out on May 8, 2018. While everything adds up, there’s only one question remaining. What will Wight’s role in Destiny 2 be?
Commenters in the post and websites all around the web do believe that he might have something to do with Rasputin. We heard the Warmind’s voice before in the first Destiny reciting system messages so even if that scenario looks tempting, it might be way far from the truth. For what it’s worth, the fact that such a tease happened in short period after the expansion’s release date is a good sign for more information to come.
According to Activision, Destiny 2 is “the largest PC launch in Activision history based on units” and the game’s first expansion “Curse of Osiris” had a higher attach rate compared to the original Destiny’s first expansion. After months of Bungie trying to make amends with past mistakes, maybe this expansion will be the reason people will start coming back to the game after all.
