Will We Be Seeing A Resident Evil 2 Remake At E3 2018? Rumors Say Yes

There’s already been a remake of the original Resident Evil game that came out several years ago, but rumors are starting to spread saying that we’ll be seeing an announcement of a Resident Evil 2 remake at this year’s E3. While we don’t know if it’s true or not, it’s an interesting possibility.

Resident Evil 2 is probably one of the most notable of the games in the Resident Evil series, as it introduces two of the series’s most notable characters, Leon Kennedy (who arrives late to the party in Raccoon City due to oversleeping on his first day on the force) and Claire Redfield, younger sister to Chris Redfield, who debuted in the first game alongside Jill Valentine, Albert Wesker, and Barry Burton.

Whereas Chris and the STARS team are trapped in the Spencer Mansion while the Raccoon City outbreak happened, Claire and Leon were trapped in Raccoon City itself, having to fight their way out of the city and to uncover the truth beneath the Raccoon City Police station, while keeping Shirley Birkin, the daughter of a prominent Umbrella Corporation scientist, safe at the same time.

Resident Evil 2 is seen by many as one of the best games ever made, and with Resident Evil 7 getting the game back into the good graces of gamers, it’s only natural that Capcom is making a Resident Evil 2 remake after remastering the original Resident Evil. Of course, that’s no proof that we’ll be getting that game to begin with, or at least announcing it at E3.

Of course, Resident Evil 7 came fairly out of nowhere at the end of E3 2016, so there’s no guarantee that we won’t be seeing a Resident Evil 2 remake at E3 2018 either. Either way, all we have to do is wait for E3 itself to see whether or not Resident Evil 2 will be getting a remaster sometime this year or next year.
