Power of the Cloud Coming to Nintendo Switch With Resident Evil 7 BioHazard

Capcom has announced that we are going to get the cloud version of Resident Evil 7 BioHazard for Nintendo Switch which will be available on May 24.

Capcom today announced the arrival of a cloud version of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard beginning May 24, 2018, on the Nintendo eShop of the Switch in Japan. Capcom has not yet confirmed the release of the game in the West, and the Japanese version will contain only the texts in Japanese.

Unlike the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC version released last year which topped the UK charts, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard Cloud Version on Switch will run on cloud service and will require a stable Internet connection to play.

This was announced by Capcom on their official site with a trailer which shows us that game will not only include the main game but also the add-on DLCs which are Banned Footage Volume 2 and Biohazard 7: Resident Evil Cloud Version Volume 2.

The game will be running off a dedicated cloud service which means there will be some lags and frame rate drop depending on your internet speed. High-speed internet is advised for the cloud play.

The download will be completely free on the eShop and the size of the game is only 45 MB and it will be possible to play for free for 15 minutes. Subsequently, you will have to pay a ticket costing 2,000 yen including tax or approximately $18 to play the game for 180 days. After which you will have to repurchase the ticket.

The full game will be playable and all DLC (Prohibited Videos, The End of Zoe and Not a Hero) will be directly included alongside Joy-Con intuitive an operation method has also been added.

With the release of this cloud version of Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, we can imagine that Capcom will try to release other games in the same way on Switch including Monster Hunter World and Tekken 7.

In Other news Resident Evil 8 is already in works, ready to ride the success 0f Resident Evil 7.
