Youtube have revealed their top trending games for August and most of the results come as no surprise. Sony will be happy with the results, with Until Dawn taking top spot.
When coming up with the list of top trending videos it is important to note this is not just based on hits alone. It also takes into consideration the watch time and how many “Creators” are making content about the game. Here is the list of games below:

With the top three being new releases, or in Call of Duty’s case a beta, it comes as no surprise that there are a high number of videos created and watched about them. With Until Dawn though this is also down to the nature of the game itself.
Until Dawn is a game that not only is exciting to play but can be played in a way that involves the viewers of livestreams. It is also watchable as a horror experience itself with users who may not have access to the game being able to enjoy the story itself. With many Creators also taking different routes and making mistakes that lead to different deaths it also adds to the fun of the videos.
Along with the popularity of the new releases there are also a few constants in there such as World of Warcraft and H1Z1. While a game like H1Z1 can often be under the radar of some, for many the online experience this game gives, especially with Battle Royale keep the Early Access game popular among content creators and streamers.
