Unlocking Evie’s Chameleon Ability will Take Work in Assassin’s Creed Syndicate

With Evie's Chameleon Ability being a powerful tool, don't expect to gain access to it by just playing the main missions in Assassin's Creed Syndicate.

With Assassin’s Creed Syndicate building up to release on Xbox One and Playstation 4 more focus is being put on how the game plays. One thing people have wondered about is Evie’s Chameleon ability.

As you would assume, the ability to become invisible around your enemies is a good skill to have in a stealth game, in fact it could make the game a little too easy. This is why it won’t be unlocked by just playing the main missions.

Talking to Examiner game director Scott Phillips has revealed a few details about the new ability:

“It’s a very high level ability, so you’re are not going to get it if you only play the main missions, you will have to complete additional content. Just by blasting through the game won’t mean you earn the Chameleon ability. The ability needed to be gated because it is so powerful. There are a lot of ways you can use it,”

He continued to say that he hopes that the ability will make players more inventive:

“We wanted an ability that was focused on stealth and it was the ultimate stealth tool, making Evie essentially invisible to nearby enemies so she can hide almost in plain sight. That was all something we felt was really powerful. It’s a late game skill for sure,”

As we now know, Evie’s aim in the game is to obtain a Piece of Eden. In Assassin’s Creed Syndicate the lore behind the Creed franchise is there in the background, for those who want to hunt for it:

“Initially, the only piece of Eden that was talked about was the Apple of Eden from Ezio. Then the Sword of Eden was introduced in Assassin’s Creed Unity. Basically, it allows us to get to that first civ, the mysterious element of why this battle has been going on for thousands of years. We do get into that a little more in other parts of the game, so there’s a lot of lore for people who want to dig in that,”
