There are a total of 18 types of Pokemon in Pokemon Go. Each one with individual strengths and weaknesses, these types include bug, dark, dragon, electric, fairy, fighting, fire, flying, ghost, water, steel, rock, psychic, poison, normal, ice, ground, and grass.
Usually a Pokemon is of a single type, but there are Pokemon of two types. Since a Pokemon has unique strengths and weaknesses against other Pokemon, it is a good idea to have Pokemon belonging to different types in a team.

Overall Best and Worst Pokemon in Pokemon Go
We recently did an analysis of all available Best Offensive and Best Defensive Pokemon-Type in Pokemon Go and came to the conclusion that Ghost-Type Pokemon is the best overall Pokemon in the game. Fairy-Type Pokemon, on the other hand, is the worst one.
Ghost-Type Pokemon in Pokemon Go has the best defense and can only be taken down by Ghost-Type and Dark-Type which make up a total of 02% of all available Pokemon. You can check out the list below for more information!

Pokemon Go Best Team Composition
As I have mentioned earlier, you should not comprise a team only of Ghost-Type Pokemon. Instead, you need to come up with a team composition that has Pokemon belonging to a variety of Pokemon-Types. You need to come up with something that not only reduces the overall weakness of the team, but also contribute to the overall strength of the team composition.
With that being said, the list provided above will definitely help you come up with a team composition which is not easy to take out!
