Uncharted movie has been in development for quite some time and fans are growing impatient with all the delays relating to the project. Sony on the other hand is slowly making progress towards the completion of the Uncharted movie.
Sony has now recruited Joe Carnahan for writing the latest draft of the script for Uncharted movie. Carnahan is an accomplished director and producer, in an interview with Variety he revealed that he wants to helm the movie. But he can’t because of schedule constraints. Bad Boys 3 is his next big project which will begin production early next year.
In a perfect world I would love to do both, but right now, I’m only on board to write the script.
He further said that he has always been fascinated by archaeology and entering the world of Nathan Drake is a dream come true.
Archaeology today is in itself an antiquity, but that world has always fascinated me. Especially when you go to a museum today and wonder how a piece got there to begin with. Plus, the property itself is so popular that it was hard to turn down an opportunity to work on it.
The Uncharted movie is a co-production between Arad and Atlas Entertainment Production. The movie will be produced by Charles Roven, Avi Arad, Alex Gartner, Ari Arad, and Sony creative exec Jonathan Kadin will be overseeing the project.
Recently, Nolan North, the man behind Nathan Drake, revealed the Chris Prat should play Nathan Drake in the movie adaptation of the game.
On a related note, according to PlayStation UK, Uncharted 4 is the best selling PlayStation 4 game for 2016 so far, but did not revealed any specific number for the units sold. They also announced that Uncharted 4 is discounted for a limited time in UK, US and Canada.
Uncharted 4 is developed by Naughty Dog and Published by Sony Interactive Entertainment exclusively for PlayStation 4.
