Ubisoft May Have Teased the Next Assassin’s Creed Last Year, Merva Hinted Greece

The next Assassin's Creed is going to take us to Greece. According to a new report. However, Ubisoft itself may have teased Assassin's Creed Greece back in August 2017. Also, Merva may have hinted at the setting.

Ubisoft is working on a new Assassin’s Creed which is reportedly set in Greece. There is no official confirmation, of course, but Ubisoft art director Raphael Lacoste may have teased the next Assassin’s Creed last year. Back in August 2017, Lacoste shared a Tweet showing an image from Greece.

At the time we made nothing of it but in light of a recent report that Assassin’s Creed is heading to Greece, there is a chance that this Tweet was actually a node to the next Assassin’s Creed.

On this Tweet, some fans did ask if this was the setting for the next Assassin’s Creed. However, at the time, Raphael mentioned that it was an image from his vacation.

Here is another very interesting image of Marva from Assassin’s Creed. The symbols behind her possibly represent the locations we will get to visit. One of the symbols, Udjat aka The Eye of Horus, is an ancient Egyptian Symbol. Egypt was the setting of Assassin’s Creed Origins. Meanwhile, you can also see the Omega symbol as well which is possibly a hint toward Greece.

Greeks have a rich history and vibrant characters that fit perfectly with the tone of Assassin’s Creed games. An announcement at E3 2019 on Ubisoft’s press event should reveal more about the next game. However, major leaks often dampen the effects of AC reveals.

Both Assassin’s Creed Syndicate and Unity have leaked years ahead of their official announcement. While a major leak like that hasn’t occurred since Ubisoft still needs to cement the cracks to avoid information seeping out.

Would you like to see the next game take you to Greece? Or do you have a better setting in mind? Let us know in the comments below.
