Unit information Panel: Stats

The hitpoints are quite simple to explain, the more you have the more damage you can endure. Units usually have self-regeneration and also can be healed using external sources. The armor impacts how much each attack damages you. The more you have, the harder it is to kill you.

Leadership is the psychological factor in the game. If your leadership factor drops too low, your units may retreat. Speed is self-explanatory. Melee attack determines the chance of hitting the enemy. In simple words, the higher your melee attack, the more damage you will deal.

Melee defense is the chance of you dodging a melee attack. Having a higher stat of this will make you less vulnerable to damage. Weapon Strength determines how much damage your primary weapon will do. It is split into base armor damage and armor piercing damage. Finally, charge bonus is the extra damage that your unit will do if it is charging into an enemy.

Unit information Panel: Abilities

An armor-piercing unit is indicated by a symbol next to the weapon strength. Hovering your mouse over the stat can give you a better indication of the base damage and the armor piercing damage that your weapon will do. Units with high armor piercing damage are better off fighting heavily armored units as units with only base damage may not be able to penetrate the armor.

Bonus vs. Large is another symbol that is visible beside your Weapon Strength stat. This makes units much more effective against enemies who are large. Spearmen are one of the prime examples for this. You will also come across various other symbols on the unit information panel which you can hover over and check what they mean.

On the bottom of the unit information panel, you can check all of the abilities that your unit has. One of the most common is fear, which will cause a decrease in the leadership of any nearby enemy unit. This will make them run away a little sooner although some units may be invulnerable to it.

Terror is another ability which will instantly make your enemy retreat provided their leadership is low enough. You should go through the abilities of your units and understand how you can efficiently utilize them. Try to counter whatever it is your enemy throws at you. This way you will always have an advantage in battle.
