Tomb Raider Camps Map Locations Guide

When you’re stuck on an island, one of the major concerns is finding a safe place where you can start a fire, and set up a camp. Such places exist for the young Lara Croft in Tomb Raider, on the harsh and unwelcoming Yamatai Island.

In fact, camps are extremely important ‘checkpoint’ locations for Lara. The major benefit that camps offer is allowing Lara to fast travel between them. Thus, it’s advisable to find as many camps as soon as possible in the game.

Unlocking camps gives Lara the advantage of exploring the island more freely. This allows for players to hunt for collectibles like Documents, Relics, and GPS Caches, and the related tombs and treasure maps.

But the most basic and important purpose of a camp is that it is the main area where Lara can learn new skills and upgrade her equipment.

Lara gains experience points by completing objectives, performing certain actions, combat, raiding tombs, collecting items, and more. When a certain amount of points are accumulated, the player will earn a skill point. This skill point can be spent at a Base Camp to unlock new abilities.
