Free content is often used for promotional reasons and is only free for a limited amount of time. However, in the case of Titanfall, season pass and DLC is free to download forever.
The news came when Respawn was asked regarding the time-limit of Titanfall’s free content. Respawn replied with the following response:
@deathspankd This content is free starting now and will remain free for all users who purchase Titanfall for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC

The free DLC and season pass was offered to fans in celebration of Titanfall’s first anniversary. At the time, the content was only available for free on Xbox Live. Later on, Respawn announced in a post that along with Xbox, PC users can also grab the season pass from Origin.
Free goodies included Expedition, Frontier’s Edge and IMC Rising DLC. The news regarding Titanfall didn’t end there, just a day after the content went free, Respawn confirmed Titanfall 2 and said the title is in development.
Moreover, Titanfall 2 will be multiplatform so PlayStation fans should prepare for the arrival of Titans.
At the time of the announcement, CEO Vince Zampella stated that the team is inspired Evolve’s DLC model. They would like to follow the same model for their game:
I think that’s a fantastic way to do it. think having the maps like that in packs, it does split the community and it makes it harder for matchmaking, it’s messy. Yeah. I don’t know [that] we won’t do it again, I can’t say that for sure, but the idea would be to do something different.
Those of you who own Titanfall should head down to your respective online stores and grab the free content. There’s no hurry though, it’s free forever!
