The Witcher 3 Xbox One X Enhancements Detailed By CD Projekt RED

The Witcher 3 is still, after many years, considered to be one of the most loved and addictive RPG titles released these past years. This is why it comes to no surprise that it’s one of the first video games to get enhanced for the upcoming Xbox One X, Microsoft’s newest console. The Witcher 3 Xbox One X Enhancements have been announced today and this gives us one more reason to dive in for one more playthrough.

CD Projekt RED’s Development Lead on the epic RPG The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Jakub Kutrzuba gave an interview to Xbox Wire, talking about the enhancements the game will receive on Xbox One and gave all the “spicy” details we wanted to know to get excited about the console’s launch.

According to Kutrzuba, The Witcher 3 Xbox One X Enhancements will feature 4K, while providing numerous visual tweaks such as higher-quality shadows, ambient occlusion & texture filtering, as well as higher resolution textures, and an all-around performance boost. This means that all those amazing scenes and enchanting visuals will become even sharper and vivid. As he stated:

Beautiful visuals are one of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s standout features, breathing life into the game’s open-world full of places to see, secrets to uncover, and adventures to embark on. When enhancing the game for Xbox One X, we wanted to use the additional power of the console to deliver an even more visually stunning experience. When playing the game on Xbox One X, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt’s visuals are sharper and the overall presentation more vivid than ever before on Xbox.

He also pointed out that we won’t necessarily need a 4K TV to be able to benefit from the 4K resolution. Thanks to supersampling, the leap in quality will be visible even on a 1080p screen.

The Witcher 3 is already enhanced with a 4K resolution for the PlayStation 4 Pro, even though its launch was a bumpy one with the game constantly crashing for many players.

Always looking for a deep story, empathetic characters, and a great soundtrack in video games. Hardcore game hoarder and a strong believer that one day Xbox will win the console war.
