AMD is going to be releasing new drivers specific to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt later this week.
This was revealed by the company’s Corporate Vice President Roy Taylor when he responded to a question on Twitter a couple of days back. AMD owners should expect the new update to be available for download from the official AMD website by this weekend.
At the moment it’s not known what aspects the new drivers will be improving. Regardless, they should boost the FPS rate at higher settings.
Presently, I’m running the game with an AMD 7970GHz, with V-Sync disabled, foliage density and shadows on High, and the rest of the settings on Ultra. My FPS is jumping around the clock, but I usually do see it around between the 30-40 mark. Which is amazing, considering the age of this card.
The latest drivers, if you haven’t updated to already, are the Catalyst Beta 15.4 – released for Grand Theft Auto V.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt was released a couple of days ago, and is keeping everyone busy with its massive world of lore and surprises. I’m really looking forward to the amount of improvement AMD will be introducing to the game’s performance with the new Catalyst drivers.
