More than four years have passed since CD Projekt RED placed The Witcher 3 on sale, The Witcher 3 is a game unlike any other and it remains in the minds of players with practically the same intensity as during its release.
During these years, the company has had time to work on its next project, Cyberpunk 2077, which will be released next year 2020.
Similarly, they have also had time for something else: Observe how the third installment starring Geralt de Rivia continues to shine commercially.
This has been reflected in the study through its financial review in the first half of 2019 (via PCGamer).
Our financial result for the first half of the year was again mainly affected by sales of The Witcher 3, which remain strong. This further confirms our belief that investing in top-quality games pays off, and that such games may continue to sell well for many years,” CD Projekt CFO Piotr Nielubowicz said. “In the first half of 2019 gamers actually purchased more copies of The Witcher 3 than during the first half of the previous year!
It’s understandable that the game keeps selling, because CD Projekt RED is still investing in the game and also by expanding to other platforms keeps players interested.
To this incredible news we must add the fact that the launch of The Witcher 3 on Nintendo Switch has not yet occurred. As is well known, the title in question will land on November 15 in the hybrid console, and will do so in a special pack that will include its popular two expansions: Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine.
In addition, here are some key features that was found about the Nintendo Switch version of the game at Gamescom 2019:
- The graphic quality on the TV was better than expected.
- The graphic quality in the portable mode was much higher than expected.
- The game’s performance is very solid.
- Loading times are too long, it is longer than on PS4 or Xbox One.
- CD Projekt RED has not given up anything with this version. For example, the amount of NPCs are the same.
- The game world is the same as the other versions.
CD Projekt RED is putting a lot of effort into their work, and we are excited for any future announcements from the company.
