The First Nioh Continues To Sell At A Good Pace On PS4 And PC

We are all thinking about the promising Nioh 2 that will launch in 2020; however, that is not an obstacle for the original Nioh to continue enjoying good sales numbers. This has recently been announced by analyst Daniel Ahmad.

Nioh has now shipped 2.75 million units, up from 2.5 million units in February 2019. Nioh 2 is set to release in Early 2020.

According to him, the first Nioh has already distributed about 2.75 million units, representing an increase of 250,000 games in the last few months.

The figure may not seem too high, but three considerations must be taken into account. In the first place it is a decidedly niche game, intended for a very specific audience, secondly that the sequel is very close and thirdly that the first part dates back to the beginning of 2017.

Nioh 2 is the sequel to the role-playing video game of Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja. Betting again on the classic mechanics of the Nioh cult success, the sequel will continue betting on this setting based on oriental folklore, presenting us with great demons, ghosts and katanas wrapped in flames.

PS4 players will have the opportunity to try the promising Nioh 2 once again thanks to the open beta testing phase that Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have confirmed during the Tokyo Game Show 2019. It will be from November 1 to 10 when fans can play this challenging action video game for free.

After surprising us with a spectacular Nioh trailer at the TGS 2019, the Team Ninja game has been present at the PlayStation event, where we have been able to see a new gameplay video. In this up to three players have gathered to face a fearsome final enemy in an exciting duel that makes it clear that this is going to be a difficult video game like the original.

The video of Nioh 2 in the PlayStation event also shows other peculiarities of this long-awaited adventure. For now, the contents of the open beta have not been specified, so we will have to wait for more details about what this trial period offers.

When Nioh 2 was announced at the Sony conference at E3 2018, we were left with doubts about who would be the protagonist. In the original Nioh of 2017, also signed by Team Ninja, it allowed us to be William Adams, but he will not repeat as the main character in the sequel.

According to Polygon, the video game will have an editor to define the appearance of the hero with, even, the possibility of choosing his sex.

More small details have also been made public. Fumihiko Yasuda the director of Nioh 2 made the below statement regarding this.

This is not going to be a dramatic change, but rather an opportunity to correct some things that did not leave them too satisfactory in the original. The deaths will be more satisfactory, although the difficulty of the original video game will remain.

I remind you that Nioh 2 will release somewhere in early 2020.
