The Division: When Shooting People, The Colours Have Meaning

When playing The Division, you’ll notice that the numbers that appear when enemies are shot appear in different colours. If you haven’t yet worked out what they mean, they do have specific meanings that can be important.

When in the middle of battle, you need to do as much damage as possible as with any other shooting game you have body shots, headshots, and critical shots. Where in some games critical shots are normally based on headshots, this is not the case here. Arrekz Gaming on YouTube has done a new video, which you can see above which explains this.

The first thing to notice is the fact that some enemies have purple health meters. This means they are wearing armour. When you shoot them you’ll see that the value to show the hit damage is blue. What this means is that you have hit their armour and that is damaged. Shoot them enough that will turn into a white value.

Once it is white, this means that you have hit them with a body shot. If the shot is read, that means you have managed to get a headshot. Where it gets interesting is if you hit them and get orange, because this is a critical hit.

With the critical hit you can actually get this with both body and headshots, which is shown in the video. This is where most damage will be done, and as you see from the gameplay huge amounts will be done with a well-timed critical shot.

With this knowledge you’ll be able to head into battle and know just how well you are doing in trying to take down your opponents. Hopefully now you know what the colours mean, you’ll have more of an understanding just what you are doing when you are firing at the person you are doing battle with.
