The Division Dark Zones Rank, Keys, Chests

Dark Zones in the Division are areas teeming with tough enemies and incredible rewards. Inside the DZ, it is a good idea to know about DZ rank, DZ chests, and DZ keys. This guide details everything you need to know about these things:

DZ Rank

Encounters inside DZ will increase or decrease your DZ rank depending upon the outcome.

Needless to say, but eliminating high ranked enemies will rapidly increase your DZ rank, but if you die before escaping, you will lose your rank just as quickly. The question here is why you need to maintain a high DZ rank.

The reason for this is in order to open rare loot caches and in order to equip DZ leveled gear at your disposal.

DZ Keys

Acquiring DZ keys is completely random in the game. You need to enter DZs, continue to eliminate high rank enemies and hope they drop a couple of DZ keys.

In addition to this, if you know any friendly that has some DZ keys on him, you can eliminate him and get his DZ keys for yourself – the choice in the end is yours!

DZ Chests

Once you have acquired DZ keys, you will have to put them to good use.

While inside a DZ, you will come across plenty of DZ chests – probably holding something valuable inside – often guarded by high rank enemies. These DZ chests require DZ rank and DZ keys.

However, it is all not as simple as it sounds! Even if you manage to deal with enemies, open the DZ chest, and acquire the loot inside; you will have to escape the DZ with your life in order to keep the goodies.

When it comes to escaping a DZ, you can either run for it or call in an extraction chopper, however, do note that every players in the lobby gets alerted of the chopper so it is not advisable.

This is all we have to prepare you for The Division DZs. If there is something else you would like to know, make sure to let us know in the comments section below!
