Terminator 6 Production Begins This Summer, the Terminator Confirms

Following a recent report that principal photography had been delayed for Terminator 6 into the coming months, the T-800 model in the Cyberdyne Systems series has personally travelled through time to drop an official acknowledgement.

Speaking with fan-website TheArnoldFans in a recent interview, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger confirmed that production is scheduled to begin this summer and should wrap in fall.

“We are starting to shoot Terminator 6 in June to the middle of October, so I am in that,” Schwarzenegger said. “I am looking forward to coming back as the T-800 model. It’s gonna be great with Tim Miller as the director, and Jim Cameron is kind of supervising the whole thing.”

The new untitled installment will be the last time that Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton reprise their roles as the Terminator and Sarah Connor. The torch is being handed over to a new young female lead, Dani Ramos. Since this is not the end of the franchise, as well as with original creator James Cameron bent on acquiring the rights back next year, it is only logical to introduce new and young cast that can return in the future.

Terminator: Genisys (2015) was the fifth and most recent installment in the franchise. The notion of a reboot did not end well with the audience and was deemed a critical and financial disappointment. It is why Paramount Pictures has been taking it slow with Terminator 6.

Terminator 6 is set to open in theaters on July 26, 2019, unless there are further delays down the line.

This will not mark the end of the acting career for Schwarzenegger because he is also heading to the wild west for a new television series called Outrider that is currently in development at Amazon Studios. The former governor of California will be cleaning the spurs on his shoes in a secondary lead role. He will also be filling in as an executive producer for the project alongside Mace Neufeld.
