There are 30 Hidden Treasure Hunts in The Witcher 3.
In order to complete these Treasure Hunts, you need to gather hints and clues from reading various letters and notes. These letters and notes will provide you with hints and a general location of the hidden treasure.
The Witcher 3 Hidden Treasure Hunts Locations
Following is everything you need to know about all 30 Hidden Treasure Hunts in The Witcher 3:
White Orchard
Deserter Gold
Required Item: Spy’s Notes
Nearest Signpost: Mill
You need to find the treasure inside a small abandoned camp located on the hill east from the Mill. Do note that the quest only counts if you don’t open up the chest before reading the Spy’s Notes.
Dirty Funds
Required Item: Scrawled Notes
Nearest Signpost: Mill
Scrawled Notes found in one of the bandit’s outpost lead to another bandit hideout in the same area (north-east side from the Mill). Once you’re there, fight the bandit leader and claim the rewards.
Temerian Valuables
Required Item: Blood-Soaked Millitary Orders
Nearest Signpost: Mill
First, you need to find a body near a bridge on the west side of the Mill.
After retrieving the key, open up a chest at the bottom of the river. Read the notes found in the underwater chest and head to the house near the Mill. Break the obstacles blocking the cellar using Aard and open up the chest using the key to find the loot.
Velen (No Man’s Land) – Grayrocks
An Unfortunate Turn of Events
Required Item: Unsent Letter
Nearest Signpost: Devil’s Pit
Travel to the south side of the Devil’s Pit to find a peasant’s corpse near the riverside. Read the letter and use your Witcher’s Senses to find the cargo at the bottom of the river.
The Things Men Do For Coin…
Required Item: Letter
Nearest Signpost: Border Post
First off, find a letter and a key on a dwarf’s corpse on the island at the east side from the Border Post. After finding the said items, use your Witcher’s Senses to find the loot.
Blood Gold
Required Item: Bloodstained Document
Nearest Signpost: White Eagle Fort
Travel north-east from the White Eagle Fort to come across an Abandoned Prospector Camp.
After arriving there, search the camp and find a key on a soldier’s corpse. Once you’ve acquired the key, use your Witcher’s Senses to follow the blood trail and find the treasure.
Dowry
Required Item: Unsent Letter
Nearest Signpost: White Eagle Fort
First off, head north from the White Eagle Fort and reach the riverside. Search the woman’s corpse on the riverside along with a key and a letter. Lastly, use your Witcher’s Senses to find the treasure.
Tough Luck
Required Item: Letter
Nearest Signpost: Devil’s Pit
You need to head south-east from the Devil’s Pit Signpost to come across a destroyed cart. After a small fight, search the refugee’s corpse to find a letter and a key to open up a treasure chest you can find using your Witcher’s Senses.
Lost Goods
Required Item: Nilfgaardian’s Notes
Nearest Signpost: Ferry Station
First off, you need to find a Nilfgaardian’s corpse which you can find by travelling north from the Ferry Station Signpost.
Use the Nilfgaardian’s Notes to reach the treasure in Drowner-infested area. Kill the monsters and use your Witcher’s Senses to claim your reward.
Velen (No Man’s Land) – The Descent
Out of the Frying Pan, Into the Fire
Required Item: Crumpled Notes
Nearest Signpost: Lurtch
First you need to head to the basement of the burned house near the north-west side of the Toderas Village. Search the refugee’s corpse to find the loot in one of the haystacks nearby.
Hidden from the World
Required Item: Letter
Nearest Signpost: Marauders’ Bridge
Find the bandit’s camp near the east side of the Marauders’ Bridge and use your Witcher’s Senses and bandit’s letter to find the treasure.
Velen (No Man’s Land) – Spitfire Bluff
Sunken Treasure
Required Item: Water-Damaged Letter
Nearest Signpost: Hangman’s Alley
Head to the shore near Hangman’s Alley to find a rotting corpse followed by using your Witcher’s Senses to locate the remains of smugglers’ precious cargo.
Costly Mistake
Required Item: Smugglers Notes
Nearest Signpost: Hangman’s Alley
Find a boat near the west side of the Hangman’s Alley and use your Witcher’s Senses to locate the treasure.
A Plea Ignored
Required Item: Crumpled Letter
Nearest Signpost: Condyle
You need to travel south from the Condyle Signpost and continue along the path until you come across a burnt house and a soldier’s corpse.
Once you arrive there, kill the monster and loot the soldier’s body. Use the Crumpled Letter and your Witcher’s Senses to find the reward.
Velen (No Man’s Land) – The Mire
Don’t Play With Gods
Required Item: Unsent Letter
Nearest Signpost: Byways
Head to Elven Ruins by travelling north from the Byways and kill the Wraiths roaming in the area.
After that, search the peasant’s corpse and find the treasure guarded by a Nightwright. Kill the monster and use the key you found earlier on peasant’s corpse to open it up.
The Dead Have No Defense
Required Item: Marauder’s Notes
Nearest Signpost: Duen Hen
Head south from Duen Hen Signpost to reach a bandit camp near the riverside. Kill all the surviving bandits in the area and search the entire camp to find a note and a key. Use your Witcher’s Senses to lead you to the treasure.
Sunken Chest
Required Item: Blood-Smeared Notes
Nearest Signpost: Fyke Isle
Head south from the Fyke Island to reach another island. Once you get there, fight off the Drowners and search the corpse there. Use the Blood-Smeared Notes and your Witcher’s Senses to find the treasure.
Coast of Wrecks
Required Item: Letter
Nearest Signpost: Widows’ Grotto
Head south-west from Novigrad Suburbs and find a shipwreck in the area. Kill the Drowners in the area use your Witcher’s Senses to find 4 treasure chests in the water.
Novigrad – Grassy Knoll
Battlefield Loot
Required Item: Crumpled Notes
Nearest Signpost: Eternal Fire Chapel
Head south from the Eternal Fire Chapel Signpost and reach the marshy areas on the other side. Once you arrive there, loot the farmer’s corpse and use your Witcher’s Senses to find the treasure.
Skellige – Ard Skellig
Inheritance
Required Item: Old, Yellowed Letter
Nearest Signpost: Boxholm
Loot the dead body rotting near the north side of the Boxholm Signpost and loot it followed by using your Witcher’s Senses to get to the treasure.

Required Item: Itinerant Merchant’s Notes
Nearest Signpost: Arinbjorn
You’ll come across a destroyed cart on the road just outside Arinbjorn. Once you get there, kill off the Drowners near the lake and use your Witcher’s Senses to find the loot.
Family Fortune
Required Item: Letter
Nearest Signpost: Ruined Inn
Head to the south-east side of the Fyresdal near the Ruined Inn Signpost and loot the treasure chest inside the inn. Read the letter that you find inside and head south-west from the area to find the treasure.
Pearls of the Coast
Required Item: Unsent Letter
Nearest Signpost: Eldberg Lighthouse
First off, reach the Pirate’s Camp near the Eldberg Lighthouse and kill all bandits in the camp. Look for a small sack sitting on a bench and loot it. Use the letter and your Witcher’s Senses to find the treasure.
Nilfgaardian Treasure
Required Item: Cargo List
Nearest Signpost: Urialla Harbor
Head south-east from the Urialla Harbor and kill the monsters on a rotting corpse. Search the dead body and use your Witcher’s Senses along with the reading the Cargo List to find the treasure.
Skellige – Undvik
Precious Haul
Required Item: Traveler’s Notes
Nearest Signpost: Tor Gvalch’ca
Head to the northern edge of the island near Tor Gvalch’ca and loot the corpse to find the Traveler’s Notes. After reading the notes, swim towards the north side and use your Witcher’s Senses to find the treasure on a large island.
Shortcut
Required Item: Torn Piece of Paper
Nearest Signpost: Urskal
You’ll come across a small boat guarded by a small group of bandits near the large lake. Kill the bandits, grab the bag from the boat, and dive down into the water to find a shipwreck containing the treasure.
Skellige – Spikeroog
Not Only Eagles Dare
Required Item: Note
Nearest Signpost: Svorlag
Find a boat-wreck near the coast of Spikeroog near Svorlag Signpost and kill the Drowners in the area. Search the corpse and use the Note along with your Witcher’s Senses to find the treasure.
Skellige – Snidhall Isle
Unlucky’s Treasure
Required Item: A Frustrated Warrior’s Notes
Nearest Signpost: Bay Of Winds
Find the Warrior’s Notes at the top of a cliff near a Griffin’s Nest near Bay of Winds Signpost and use them along with your Witcher’s Senses to dig up the treasure chest in the same area.
Skellige – Faroe
Hidden in the Depths
Required Item: Crumpled, Stained Letter
Nearest Signpost: Harviken
First off, head south-west from the Harviken Signpost and reach the shore near the cave entrance. Loot the corpses to find a Crumpled Letter and use your Witcher’s Senses to find the loot inside the cave.
Skellige – Faroe
Ironsides’ Treasure
Required Item: Notes about Treasure
Nearest Signpost: Harviken
Start off by heading north from the Harviken Signpost and reach Faroe Island. Find the Treasure Notes on the boat-wreck and dive deep into the water using your Witcher’s Senses to find the last treasure.
