SuperData Thinks There’s a New Resident Evil Game Coming This Year

Over the past few years Resident Evil has struggled, drifting away from its survival horror roots and becoming a more action oriented title, resulted badly for the franchise.

The last entry in the main series we all loved was Resident Evil 4. Afterwards, Capcom went completely in the wrong direction. This year, the company tried to revive survival horror in Resident Evil via a sequel to its spin-off series, Resident Evil Revelations.

But is a spin-off  all we’re getting this year? Or is something big  happening behind the scenes? Resident Evil 7 maybe?

SuperData, a research company claims that we will see another Resident Evil game in the later part of 2015. On the other hand Capcom is yet to say a word about Resident Evil 7 being in development. However, according to SuperData:

We anticipate this month’s downturn to level off during the coming few months, following a regular seasonal pattern but expect to see an upswing as the next editions of several major franchises like Halo and Resident Evil come out in the 2015 fall season.

If you ask me, I don’t think we’ll be seeing a new game this year, but we may hear an announcement at E3. I love Resident Evil and definitely support the idea of another installment, but Capcom has to realize what fans want to see.

Until they make major changes to the way they are developing this series, there is no point of releasing another game.

Do you think we’ll see another Resident Evil game this year?
