Expect Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Update Version 4.0.0 As Early As Next Week

Bandai Namco Studios’ Super Smash Bros Ultimate has been out for almost a year now. Yesterday, Nintendo announced that Super Smash Bros Ultimate will be receiving its update version 4.0.0 next week with added features and improvements.

As reported by Nintendo Versus, the announcement for the update comes from Nintendo in the form of an in-game notice. A video presentation for the Super Smash Bros Ultimate will be hosted by game director, Masahiro Sakurai, and will be taking place on July 30th and 6 AM Pacific Time or 9 AM Eastern Time.

During the video presentation, fans will get “an in-depth look at upcoming DLC Fighter, Hero from the Dragon Quest series”. Nintendo revealed the next two DLC additions to Super Smash Bros Ultimate during E3 2019, last month. Since then, fans have been patiently waiting to get their hands on Hero from the Dragon Quest and the Microsoft owned character Banjo-Kazooie. And now, thanks to this scheduled video presentation, fans will also get “new details” and the exact release date that the DLC will arrive.

According to an in-game notice, Super Smash Bros Ultimate update version 4.0.0 will be coming “within the next week”. As Nintendo Versus’ Tweet reads, “This update will include fighter adjustments”.  Which is why it is a good idea to backup any replay data you have saved and convert them into a video. If you have any replays saved, they will likely become incompatible with the new Super Smash Bros Ultimate update version 4.0.0.

You can convert your Super Smash Bros Ultimate replays into a video by going to Vault -> Replays -> Replay Data -> Convert to Video. Just make sure you do it soon as the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate update version 4.0.0 will release next week.

Patch notes for the next update will be made available on Nintendo’s website. You can meanwhile review the patch notes for the previous Smash Bros Ultimate update version 3.0.0 here.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate is a 2018 crossover fighting game made by Bandai Namco Studios and Sora Ltd. and published by Nintendo exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.
