Super Smash Bros Ultimate Dark Pit Guide

In our Super Smash Bros Ultimate Dark Pit Guide, we talk about what changes have been brought on board for Dark Pit including his moves, playing as Dark Pit, and how to unlock him.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate Dark Pit

Being an Echo Fighter to Pit, Dark Pit makes his return to the series after Super Smash Bros. 4. Since his last appearance, some tweaks have been made to both how his moves work and how they look, even though they largely resemble those of Pit.

Unlocking Dark Pit

In SSBU, you can unlock Dark Pit in any of the three ways. The first is to play the World of Light mode and defeat Boo’s Spirit at Dracula’s Castle. Play as Wario in the Classic mode and you can unlock Dark Pit too.

Lastly, the Versus Mode demands you to play multiple matches as Luigi to earn Dark Pit as the unlocked character.

Dark Pit’s jump squat now takes 3 frames to initiate compared to what was required previously: 5 frames. Down tilt now covers more vertical distance.

The Dash Attack covers more area and deals higher knockback. Neutral Aerial Attack is slower to come out while down aerial now has an increased hitbox range. Guardian Orbs are faster to initiate but will get smaller as they are charged up more.

Dark Pit is very similar to his counterpart Pit by sharing the same dashing speed, falling speed, and walking speed.

He also has the same hitboxes, damage, and knockback. Anyone familiar with Pit’s playstyle can easily play Dark Pit.

The only major difference between him and his counterpart are the three attacks in his moveset where one of them is the Final Smash, Dark Pit Staff.

The first one is the Silver Bow which shoots arrows able to shift up and down. These arrows can be useful to damage opponents who are in a disadvantageous state.

With higher damage, increased knockback, and faster charge speed, Dark Pit’s Silver Bow is more inferior than the Pit’s Palutena’s Bow.

The second attack is the Electroshock Arm that has higher overall damage, knockback, and electric hitbox compared to Pit’s Upperdash Arm.

It is a powerful tool to KO opponents anywhere on the stage as early as 80%.

The Dark Pit Staff is his Final Smash that fires a powerful charged shot in the horizontal direction.

If the opponents get hit by the shot, they go flying diagonally. Being closer to the opponent when activating the Final smash deals more damage.
