In this Super Mario Odyssey Moon Kingdom Power Moon Locations Guide, we will guide you on the locations of all the Power Moons located in the Moon Kingdom in Super Mario Odyssey. Power Moons are essential, as they are required to upgrade Odyssey.

Super Mario Odyssey Moon Kingdom Power Moon Locations

When you land in a kingdom, you will need to refuel and upgrade Odyssey. Every kingdom will have a specific requirement of Power Moons that you will need to collect before you can advance to the next Kingdom.

You will get Power Moons from completing objectives, beating bosses and in secret areas throughout the kingdoms.

You can collect the required number of Power Moons, advance to the next kingdom and then return later when the story ends to collect the remaining Power Moons as some can only be accessed once the story has ended.

In this guide, we have focused on all Power Moons in the Moon Kingdom. You will find the location to all thirty-eight Power Moons below.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #1
You will see this Power Moon floating around to the right of the Odyssey. Look for the strange shadow at the middle. Jump under this Power Moon and you will reveal a hidden block. Jump on this and then jump again. You will reveal another hidden block. Keep revealing more blocks and keep going up until you reach the Power Moon.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #2
Head to the west from the Odyssey and you will find an 8-bit pipe. Enter it and reach all the way to the end avoiding obstacles to get another Power Moon.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #3
This is located in one of Spire’s tip of the wedding hall located on its exterior. Look for the glowing spire when you reach the Wedding Hall exterior. Use Cappy to release the Power Moon from the spire.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #4
Head to the double crater on the landmass opposite to the Odyssey. You will cross some Moonsnakes and a pit over the way. Avoid the Astro-Lanceur there and look for the glowing rock in the center of the crater. Kick it until it breaks open and gives you the Power Moon.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #5
Find the hare jumping around south of the Astro-Lanceur and the Rolling Rock. Smack it with Cappy, grab it and shake it to get another Power Moon.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #6
Head west of the Ringing-Bells Plateau warp flag and find the location of the broken bridge. You will find a short platform here and across the gap, on a tiny island, a treasure chest. Use Cappy to grab a Rocket Flower and use it get to the chest.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #7
Head to the edge of the map by going north from the Odyssey. At the edge, there is a small ledge. Jump here and find the scarecrow. Use Cappy on it to take control and some blocks will be revealed. Climb them before the timer ends to reach the Power Moon. Take advantage of the low gravity to perform long jumps while jumping off a block.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #8
Head East of the Ringing-Bells Plateau flag and then go to the eastern edge of the plateau. Now, go up to the area above where the Astro-Lanceur is and then go around to the back of his crater. Inside the crater, grab the floating musical note to start a note collecting mini-game. Now collect all the notes to win the mini-game and earn a Power Moon.

When you are near the Quiet Wall warp flag, head inside the cave and inspect the Bowser Statues. One of the them will be glowing. Use Cappy and move it forward slightly to reveal a Power Moon underneath it.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #10
When you are down in the Underground Moon Caverns, when you reach the area where Parabones are flying, possess one to enter the small, cylindrical gap that you can enter. This lava is surrounding the Spark Pylon platform and the Spark Pylon is going out of the area. You will collect a key here. Now head back outside and get on the Spark Pylon Platform to collect your Power Moon.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #11
Inside the Moon Caverns, when you are under attack by Banzai Bill, possess one by throwing Cappy at it twice and start flying forward. Keep going straight until you spot a Power Moon behind a wall on a ledge behind a wall. Grab that Power Moon by smashing the Banzai Bill in the ledge.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #12
In the Moon Caverns, when you reach the second cannon floating in the air shooting Banzai Bills, grab a bullet and ride to it. Ground Pound the platform when you are in the center and collect the Power Moon.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #13
When you arrive at the dual Bowser statues, look up to find a square cutout in the rock above the entrance. Possess a bullet and head in this cutout to grab another Power Moon.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #14
Climb to the golden ringing bell of the Wedding Hall and drop down inside it. You will land on some narrow rafters. Carefully walk to the Power Moon and grab it.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #15
There is a large crater near the Odyssey and when you enter it, you will notice a stretched spot under which something will be moving. Use Cappy on it to slow it down and then ground pound it to reveal a Power Moon.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #16
When you find the dog near the souvenir shop, make it your friend and lead it to the northeast section of the plateau (where you found moon 7). The dog will sniff around and will lead you to a location where a Power Moon is buried where Moonsnakes are found. Use ground pound to get it.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #17
After the Bowser is gone, you will find five Moon Shards around the Wedding Hall. Collect them all to earn another Power Moon.

The first shard is in a ditch behind the flag on the left side of the Wedding Hall. Hop onto the roof and you’ll find the second shard. Go around to the right for the third and then on the left side of the steeple, climb about halfway up for the fourth one. For the final shard, jump on the roof on the steeple which faces the rear end of the Wedding Hall.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #18

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #19
You can buy one Power Moon in the Crazy Cap’s Store. Pay the owner 100 coins and the Power Moon is yours.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #20
When you are exploring Moon Kingdom after defeating Bowser, you will find a Koopa in a helmet. Talk with him to start the trace walking challenge. He is located around the Moonsnakes north of Odyssey. Complete the challenge to win a Power Moon.

You need to remember the blue arrows indicating the path because they’ll disappear really quickly.

You have to cross at the bottom of the ridge, then cross the ridge one more time at the part where it protrudes to the right. At the crater, turn around and then keep pressing your analog stick to return to the starting point.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #21
Start and complete the freerunning challenge by talking to Koopa outside the Wedding Hall to win a Power Moon. The start location is at the Wedding Hall.

Jump down to the left right at the start so you’ll have an easy time hopping on the tight pathway. Keep an eye out ofr Rocket Flowers to give yourself a bonus boost.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #22
After the story ends, head to the Wedding Hall to find one of the guests in great stomach pain. Wear your Dr. Mario’s coat and cap and interact to help the guest. You will get a Power Moon in return.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #23
Talk to the Sphynx and complete his quiz to earn another Power Moon once the story has ended. The answers to his riddle are sheep, moon, below the bell and Floated by airship sail.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #24
Finish the story, clear all outstanding emergencies and meet the tourist and cabbie in the Moon Kingdom to get another Power Moon.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #25

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #26
This is actually a hidden Power Moon with a hint art. You can check the hint picture in the Wedding Hall. It shows a scarecrow in a green field on one side and a dog burying something on the other side. Now find this place and ground pound the empty side opposite to the scarecrow to dig out the Power Moon.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #27
After you have opened the Moon Rock, head to the lone frog sitting behind the wedding hall in the northeast corner. You will see a UFO that flies off if you approach it. Get beneath it directly and wait for it to descend. Position yourself on the correct spot and you will get yet another Power Moon.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #28
This Power Moon is located above the Sphynx and below the exit from the Underground Moon Cavern. Go to the Cavern’s mouth to look for the Power Moon on the side and then slide down to get the Power Moon. It is floating in the air.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #29
Head back to the location where you got the Power Moon # 8. This Power Moon is high in the air and you will need a frog to get to it. Head behind the Wedding Hall, grab the frog and bring it to the platform. Use the high jump of frog from the platform to grab the Power Moon.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #30
You will see a scarecrow south of the bridge leading to Ringing-Bells Plateau Warp Flag. Get to it and use Cappy on the scarecrow to reveal some platforms and the Power Moon. Use the platforms and your surroundings to grab the Power Moon.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #31
When the Moon Rock is opened, talk with the Koopa in the Moonsnake plains to start a trace walking challenge. Complete the challenge to win the Power Moon.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #32
Complete the Moon Kingdom Master Cup to win a Power Moon. Start the Cup by talking with the Koopa south of the Wedding Hall. Keep the following tips in mind when attempting to win the Master Cup:

  • Start off by rolling away from the starting line and finish rolling when you’re at the small pillar.
  • The Long jump is your best friend. Use it whenever you can.
  • To get on the last platform, use your triple jump. Once there, triple jump again to start wall jumping above the surface.
  • As you finish the wall jumping, turn around while you’re airborne to reach the finish line.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #33
West of the Odyssey, you will find an 8-bit pipe. Enter it and grab the song note at the top of chamber to start a mini-game. Complete the mini-game by grabbing all the notes before the timer runs out to win a Power Moon.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #34 and # 35
Head to Talkatoo’s Tall Bluff and enter the Moon Pipe to enter an 8-bit world. Here enter another pipe and you will end up in a 2D galaxy. Now you must try to reach the Power Moon. Get used to the controls as every planet will have their own gravity and it will take you a little time getting used to moving around here.

For the next one, while you are heading towards the Center of the Galaxy, when almost to the top jump to the small ledge located near the lava. Go to it and you will enter another small cluster of planets with a Power Moon between them. Get to the center and grab the Power Moon.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #36
To get this Power Moon, you must complete a very tricky puzzle room. The puzzle room is located on top of the tallest wall along the southern section of the Ringing-Bells Plateau. Here, you’ll see a gray chimney which you need to enter to collect this power moon and the following one.

Progress to the end of this level to find this power moon. The golden rings will indicate where you need to jump. You’ll only need to eliminate each Astro-Lanceur enemy one time.

Moon Kingdom Power Moon #37
In the same puzzle room, after you go past the first two blue bridges, halt on the fourth pillar. When you see the blue bridge swinging down from above you, do a ground pound jump and get on top of it.

When it becomes vertical, jump again and reach the blue bridge on the left. Now, jump to the platform ahead to get the final power moon.

Travel to the Ever-After Hill and move to the cliff located towards northwest. Once there, look below to see a power moon hovering in the air. You have to jump down and try to catch the moon as you’re falling
