This guide details tips on playing as and against Lord Bison along with some basic combos and juggles listed to help you out!

How to Play as M. Bison

While playing as Bison, you need to bear in mind is that his walking speed as not nearly as much as Chun-Li’s which is why strategies revolving around footsies is completely out of question.

However, to make up for this weakness, Bison has an invincible forward dash and a huge jump which covers a lot of distance. But then again, due to a distinct animation and anti-air(s), good players will always punish these attacks.

One of the reasons why Double Knee Press is good is due to the forward motion it carries. Those of you who are used to jumping a lot with Bison should try and mix them with whiffed Devil Reverse to avoid those anti-air attacks.

In addition to this, you can also mix-up EX Psycho Blast before jumping in and charging. Against opponents who are not good with blocking lows, your HK slide is a valuable asset; especially those relying on footsies such as Chun-Li.

Last but not the least; it goes with saying that Bison’s Psycho Inferno combos do not require charge and his HK Double Knee Press albeit a little slower is safer on block as compared to LK and MK versions.

How to Play against M. Bison

Due to his slow walking, you need to always on your toes for punishing him as he tries his special(s) and dashes in order to advance in. However, punishing during Psycho Power V-Trigger requires strict timing.

Despite the fact that Devil Reversal is a pretty good attack, it can be punished without almost any anti-air at your disposal! Moreover, always try to punish LK and MK versions of Double Knee Press attacks.

You need to avoid his EX Psycho Blast which is slow, but can easily beat any one-hit projectile in the game. You should try and block it before going in for cross-up(s).

Lastly, you need to remember that his MK/MP and HK/HP are extremely slow and when combined with his slow walking speed allow him to be cornered by aggressive opponents.
