State of Decay – How To Get Survivors Fight For You

State of Decay is an open-world sandbox game with a lot zombies in it. However, the realistic approach in this game doesn’t let you become the ultimate zombie killer. It is always advised that you have an extra amount of fists with you while fighting off zombies.

This guide aims on helping you on how to get survivors go out with you while fighting the zombies or exploring new area or searching for supplies. Sometimes, it is always better to have a back-up when fighting zombies like Juggernauts or exploring the area for new weapons or items generally.

The best way is the use of radio! Find out any survivors that need rescuing and after rescuing them instead of taking them to your home base simply go on to explore the map with them. This way, you will be able to find items/weapons freely while your companions taking care of any zombies.

If you remember correctly, in the very first recruit mission of the game, you have to rescue three survivors and after doing so you are advised to take them to your home base. Well, I’d say don’t do that. Instead take these survivors with you to explore the area fully. In my personal opinion, this is the best time when you should explore the map freely without any issue once and for all.

Furthermore, in the second half of the prologue, when you are told to go to the church to meet with your group, go on to explore the map freely without any hindrance, fear of dying or mission alerts. And with a bunch of survivors at your side, you will find it pretty easy to explore and survive.

You can also do this when you get a call from your neighborhood asking you for help regarding salvaging and other stuff Grab those extra survivors with you and do whatever you want to do.

At times, you will also come across morale missions at your home base whenever a community member is feeling low or depressed. Accepting these missions will allow you to take those survivors with you on a zombie hunt, and you will once again have a chance of exploring the area.

To sum it up all, any mission that lets you have a couple of survivors with you at any time, you can use it to your advantage and take them out with you to explore new areas.

As you progress in the game, you will also gain the ability to radio to your neighbors and asking them to help you during exploring or fighting off zombies.
