Star Wars Battlefront 4K Ultra Settings Shown On AMD Ryzen And Vega Powered System

The company has finally revealed its AMD Ryzen lineup with their price tags and the Ryzen Tech Day event held in San Francisco also showed us a look at the Star Wars Battlefront 4K running on a Ryzen CPU and Vega GPU.

The footage of Star Wars Battlefront 4K was being run on a system powered by AMD’s top tier processor, the AMD Ryzen 7 1800X while the GPU was part of the upcoming Vega lineup although the exact model and specifications are unknown at this time.

With these specifications, being able to output the game at 4K resolution and Ultra settings at above 60 frames is a huge feat and it seems that the new AMD hardware is more than ready for the task.

However, it should be noted that even though the frames were 60 or above 60 for the most parts, there were some drops to low 50s in a few areas. Considering that this was the singleplayer portion of the game and not a multiplayer match with a lot of action going on, it seems like this particular GPU might not be ready for 4K60 yet when it comes to latest games.

Since there is no information on the exact Vega GPU model used for the Star Wars Battlefront 4K footage, all we can do is speculate at this point.

Although, it is highly unlikely that AMD would go for anything other than their flagship Vega GPU for demonstration purposes.

Some recently leaked benchmarks of Ashes of Singularity have also given us another look at the upcoming RX 580 GPU, although it is unknown whether this particular GPU features Vega or Polaris since the 500 series will feature cards from both architecture.

The AMD Vega lineup is scheduled to start shipping during the 2nd quarter of 2017. The hardware manufacturer has mentioned that they will be officially unveiling the new GPU series next week during GDC 2017 at their Capsaicin & Cream event.
