Splinter Cell Blacklist Errors, Crashes, Graphics, Tweaks and Performance Fixes

After the demise of 3rd Echelon, Sam Fisher is now in-charge of the Fourth Echelon. Splinter Cell Blacklist does not only secure the essence of the series; it also offers players new aggressive ways to take out enemies. The game is looking great, and if you are a fan of the franchise (or even not), you must be looking forward to it.

Now, if you have purchased the game on PC, there are chances that you may come across some problems that may not let you play/launch the game properly. These issues are expected at launch, and most of them can be fixed by simple methods.

If you are looking for a fix related to Splinter Cell: Blacklist, you can refer to the workarounds listed below!

#1 Splinter Cell: Blacklist Autopatch Issue
If you have purchased the game from anywhere other than Steam, you may face issues as it may not auto-download the launch patch. However, you can download the patch from here.

#2 Splinter Cell: Blacklist – The Game Not Showing Up in Uplay Library
Well, if you are new to Uplay, you must know that the pre-ordered games don’t show up in the library till the launch. Wait for the game to launch and it will pop-up. Also, keep in mind that the Europe release is a few days later so there is nothing you can do about it.

#3 Splinter Cell: Blacklist – Launch Issues
The game has just been released so if you are unable to launch the game, I will recommend that you restart your Steam first. If that doesn’t work, you should verify the cache of game files. Needless to say that your gfx drivers should be up-to-date. If everything else fails, a fresh install is recommended.

#4 Splinter Cell: Blacklist – Missing Executable
It happens often with the newly launched games. All you need to do is restart your Steam and verify the game’s cache.

#5 Splinter Cell: Blacklist – Controller Not Working Properly
You should make sure that the device selected in the game’s menu is your gamepad and not the keyboard and mouse. Also, try unplugging/disabling any other additional controllers or gamepads connected to your PC.

#6 Splinter Cell: Blacklist Performance Issues
First things first, you should make sure that you are using the latest version of drivers for your graphics card. If you are using crossfire or SLI, I will recommend that you disable it temporarily to see whether the performance is improved or not.

#7 Splinter Cell: Blacklist Crash Fix
If your game is being crashed at different points, try running it in the windowed mode. This should get your through the troubled point. I am not sure whether it’s a bug or not but windowed mode does seem to have worked for some.

If that doesn’t help, find the VideoSettings.ini located in the following location:

Here, you need to change some values as follows:

0 = Windowed
1 = Fullscreen (default)
2 = Windowed Fullscreen

#8 Splinter Cell: Blacklist ‘Cannot load resource files Error Fix
If you are getting this error on install or re-install, you should try installing the game in different directory. That should resolve the issue.

#9 Splinter Cell: Blacklist – Multiplayer join failed Error Fix
If you have any VPN installed like hamachi, I will recommend that you uninstall/disable it and then try joining a multiplayer game. Also, make sure that your firewall isn’t blocking the game.

If you come across any other issue that isn’t listed, comment and we will try to help you out!
