Tomb Raider, Lara Croft, has an iconic dual-wielding style of using her pistols. The trademark style was seen in the latest Tomb Raider movie as well but we could see it make a comeback in the upcoming Shadow of the Tomb Raider video game.
Developer Crystal Dynamics recently shared an artwork from the game, showing Lara on top of a tree branch stalking her prey. If we analyze the picture, we can see some of the gear she equips. She has a bow and arrows, a prying axe, a crafted machete to slice those throats, and last but not the least, a gun holstered on her right leg.
The weapon and the holster are reminiscent of the ones Lara used in her older games and films. It is being speculated that another pistol is holstered on her left leg so we could be seeing the return of dual-wielding in Shadow of the Tomb Raider.
What gives weight to this theory is the caption given to the Tweet that shared the following art:
As we know, part of becoming Tomb Raider is to dual-wield those pistols and since this is the end of the current trilogy, it is safe to say that Lara’s trademark combat style is making a return.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider is releasing later this year on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The title is set for a full reveal on April 27. You can download official full-screen and smartphone wallpapers for the game right now to get in the Tomb Raiding spirit ahead of the game’s release.
