Activision Will Give Full Freedom to FromSoftware For Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice came as a surprise to those who wanted another Bloodborne game to be announced this year. FromSoftware is mainly recognized for Bloodborne and Dark Souls so this new game comes as a surprise.

It also came as a surprise to know that for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, FromSoftware is teaming up with Activision for the first time. FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki discussed in a recent interview how their partnership became a reality.

Miyazaki said:

“[We] basically had an idea for this game. [We] talked to a bunch of publishers and right off the bat, Activision was super excited about this idea,”

“Not only did Activision like it, but Activision also was like, ‘We need to make this together.’ That was the feeling [I] got.

It’s clear that Activision wanted to be a part of a successful game from the developers of Bloodborne and Dark Souls.

“[We] also appreciated that Activision’s stance was ‘You guys have creative control. You guys do what you do and we will support you with everything that we’ve got.’ We’ve made that stance very clear and because of that stance, [we] felt very good about entering into the whole thing. Since we’ve started and we’ve come all this way, we are still all just as excited about it and it’s been going forth exactly as we had planned so we’re super excited to be working together.”

Both teams are super excited to work together on the upcoming title, while FromSoftware has the creative control and Activision is doing what they do best.

Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice does take inspiration from Dark Souls but it’s not the same and differs from the previous Dark Souls games. Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice is also a single player experience and FromSoftware is focusing on something different, instead of the multiplayer.

There is no release date yet for Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice but it will release on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
