It looks like Xbox One owners will soon be getting Skate 3 via Backward Compatibility program.

Developed by EA Black Box, Skate 3 is the third and last instalment in the Skate series. EA has yet to announce Skate 4 for Xbox One and Playstation 4.

Skate 3 on Xbox One via Backward Compatibility

Recently, an image of Skate 3 on Xbox 360 Dashboard along with the line ‘Now on Back Compat: Play Skate 3’ appeared online. This strongly hints that we are very close to getting the game despite the fact that neither EA nor Microsoft has confirmed it so far.

Another hint is that the game is currently only available for $9.99 USD which usually happens before a Backward Compatible title is announced. We will share more information as soon as we learn anything new.

A couple of months back, when a fan asked whether Skate 3 would ever be available on Xbox One via Backward Compatibility or not, Microsoft’s Phil Spencer regarded the game as one of the key games and promised to get it done at the earliest.

We know it’s a key game and are on it. I’m confident in getting it out to XB1 customers, just can’t give you a date yet, sorry. I’m with everyone on this, franchise reinvented skate control in gaming, really want to get it done, we’ll get there.

Skate 2, on the other hand, is already available on Xbox One.

Released back in May 2010, Skate 3 is currently only available on Xbox 360 and Playstation 3. The game offers both singleplayer and multiplayer experiences.
