Salty League of Legends Player Puts Head Through Monitor After Loss

It’s generally accepted information on the internet that people who play League of Legends competitively are too serious about it, and at least one incident supporting this happened today.

A Chinese League of Legends player in the city of Lanzhou decided that after losing a match, it was acceptable for him to headbutt the monitor.

The incident happened at a local internet cafe, and apparently happened out of the player’s frustration at one of his teammates. As one of the few “sports” where players probably can hate their teammates just as much as they hate the enemy team, that’s not very surprising either.

Of course, you can’t just headbutt a glass computer monitor and expect to come out of it fine; apparently the player had to have one of the cafe’s staff help him get his head out of the monitor.

Not only that, but the shards of the monitor itself also cut around his head, so he injured himself (possibly badly) in a fit of temper.

While the cafe manager denied that it ever happened, the staff have confirmed that it did in fact happen. Hopefully the League of Legends player that pulled the stunt will know to keep a stress-squeeze doll somewhere nearby in the future, or at least beat his head on the table, rather than putting it through a computer monitor.

In the meantime, if you’re a League of Legends player yourself, and you end up losing a game for some reason, please exercise some restraint. Either accept the loss as a part of life or go off and rage somewhere else, but don’t put your head through a computer monitor. That’s dangerous (not to mention expensive if you do it to a computer you own).

Hopefully this can be a learning experience not just for the Chinese player, but for other players as well.
