EA Sports UFC 2 releases tomorrow for Playstation 4 and Xbox One with Ronda Rousey as the cover star alongside Irish fighter Conor McGregor. However, the former Women’s UFC Bantamweight Champion admits that she would never want to play as herself in the game.
You would think that most people would be excited to play as their virtual counterpart in a sports game (or any other game for that matter) but not Rousey, who admits that she wouldn’t be able to do the moves on the game that she’d be able to pull off in real life.
“It weirds me out to see myself and play as myself. I’ve never played as myself. I don’t like being not as in control of my body as I should be. I don’t know all the buttons to like counter a double (leg takedown) with a Harai goshi. I’d do it in real life, but it’d be really hard (in the game)”.
The full comprehensive list of fighters available in UFC 2 has been revealed, along with the overall ratings that include the former Wrestler CM Punk who has been rated despite not featuring in any fights yet. The game will feature over 250 playable fighters, before any expected inclusion of downloadable content.
Developed by EA Canada, UFC 2 will feature improvements to all fighting techniques including submissions, grappling, blocking and parrying as well as a custom event creator. The most significant improvement over the original title though is the inclusion of female fighters in the career mode, hence the addition of Ronda Rousey on the cover who is considered the most popular and famous face in Women’s UFC.
If you’re still undecided about playing the game yourself, take a look at some recent screenshots.
