Rockstar Developer Spotted Testing Midnight Club Remastered

Rockstar hasn’t said a word regarding Midnight Club for a long time but it looks like something is brewing behind the scenes. One of the developers from Rockstar was seen testing Midnight Club Remastered on Xbox Live. One keen eyed Redditor managed to notice the testing and posted about it with evidence on Reddit.

It is a shame Rockstar never went back to this franchise but it seems a new game could be on the cards. Many developers use remastered versions to test the waters before bringing out a new installment,so fingers crossed. Here are a couple of screenshots from Midnight Club Remastered:

It has been a long time since we saw this franchise. However, it is possible that Rockstar may not go beyond Midnight Club remastered. Grand Theft Auto Online is making a decent amount of money and Red Dead Redemption 2 is expected to sell a ton as well.

In the midst of these major IPs, Midnight Club may find it hard to find its place.

Grand Theft Auto Online is the multiplayer component of GTA V. According to a previous lawsuit filed by former Rockstar North President Leslie Benzies, GTA Online revenue touched $500 million through micro-transactions last year.

It would be interesting to see if Midnight Club is something Rockstar sees profitable at this stage. The game had a niche following so it is understandable to test its demand through a remastered version.

Keep in mind that Midnight Club remastered is in no way confirmed by Rockstar or Take-Two for the time being. It is best to keep expectation in check.
