Resident Evil 2 Remake Could Be Around the Corner

Capcom is set to show a new Resident Evil project soon. Well, not exactly new but a remake of a classic Resident Evil game, Resident Evil 2 remake could be around the corner. The speculation stems from an image of the cover photo of the official Biohazard Twitter account.

The image is being considered a teaser for something related to a Resident Evil project. Resident Evil 2 remake has been in development for a long time and development hasn’t been smooth. No real updates have been shared for a while but the project is still among the hot topics for Capcom fans.

Many fans agreed that Resident Evil 7 was one of the best horror games of 2017 and desire more from the franchise. While Resident Evil 8 is in early production, we may see a Resident Evil 2 Remake in this year so fill in the gap.

All things considered, the 20th anniversary of the second part of this game is quickly approaching. Capcom could end up utilizing the current year’s date as an approach to surprise fans with an announcement that the Resident Evil 2 remake is coming in 2018.

On the other hand, the picture could be the indication of an upcoming part for one of the existing titles in the survival-horror series, especially when one considers how Capcom once asked “Nintendo to increase the Switch’s RAM to support the RE Engine”, which powers Resident Evil 7.

Capcom is silent on this issue, so there’s not much the fans can do right now but just wait for the publishers to come forward with an official statement. With Capcom placing such a mysterious post on the Biohazard page, fans can just speculate what is going to come. Resident Evil 7 is now available for PC, Xbox One and Play Station 4.
