Resident Evil 7 VR Was Playable at E3 Last Year But No One Knew About It

Resident Evil 7 VR was announced and revealed at E3 2016. However, did you know that Resident Evil 7 was playable at E3 2015? Yes, Capcom demoed the game last year and no one knew what it was.

Capcom presented the game as a tech demo for something called “Kitchen.” It was actually Resident Evil 7.

As a matter of fact the Kitchn logo had a hidden “7” in it that referred to Resident Evil 7. Here’s an image of the logo, take a look at the “T” which is cut from the upper right corner, making it a 7.

The VR demo showed last year was considered by many as the scariest thing they have ever played. It is safe to say that Resident Evil developers took notice of the feedback given by the community and have worked hard to bring the series back with a bang, after the very disappointing Resident Evil 6.

Resident Evil 7 VR has been under development for over 2 years. The demo we saw at E3 2016 was not a part of the game so we should expect in-game footage in the coming months. However, devs will need to find a fix for motion sickness many reviewers reported before they even consider shipping the game.

Resident Evil 7 VR will release early next year for PlayStation 4 and yet to be announced platforms. The game will be fully playable with PlayStation VR from start to finish.

Sony’s VR device will release in October for $399. You will also need a PlayStation Camera to run PlayStation VR games, the camera tracks your head movements.
