Capcom Teases Potential Reveal Of Resident Evil 2 Remake

With the launch of Resident Evil 7, Capcom has brought the franchise back to its roots, however, fans of the franchise have been asking for a Resident Evil 2 remake and it seems that Capcom is teasing something related to it with a cryptic Tweet.

The Tweet in question was posted by the Research and Development Division 1 at Capcom. According to the post, the team is currently in the USA and also uploaded an image showcasing a finger from Resident Evil 7 demo and a half-hidden typewriter.

Both of these items played a role in the respective games, the typewriter was used to save games in early Resident Evil titles including Resident Evil 2. As for the finger, it seems that Resident Evil 2 remake might include some new features.

Resident Evil 2 remake was announced way back in 2015, however, the game has been in the background ever since and has been overshadowed by the launch of Resident Evil 7, after all the latest title is an incredible game. Now, it seems that Capcom might be revealing the upcoming remake.

Also, earlier this month speculations started to make rounds on the internet suggesting that the remake of Resident Evil 2 might be just around the corner. The speculation stemmed from an image of the cover photo of the official Biohazard Twitter account.

While the remake of Resident Evil 2 might not be looking to release anytime soon but Steamforged Games has started a Kickstarter for Resident Evil 2 board game. The game will be set in the world of Resident Evil 2 and the project has been approved by Capcom. No details have been revealed regarding the Resident Evil 2 board game.

Also, the remake might not be the only Resident Evil game in the works as Capcom revealed that it is working on an unannounced Resident Evil project but, didn’t reveal what it was.

According to Resident Evil 7 Director Kōshi Nakanishi, while they can’t reveal anything right now but they are working on something related to Resident Evil. It is possible that Resident Evil 2 board game is that unannounced title.

Furthermore, Shinji Mikami, director of the original Resident Evil, has shown interest in directing Resident Evil 8. Shinji Mikami also directed the first Evil Within and acted as a producer of Evil Within 2.
