Report: PUBG Sales Skyrocketed in October, Sold 5 Million Copies

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) has been selling on a massive scale ever since it entered early access on Steam more than eight months ago. Based on new information, this steaming train cannot be stopped.

According to a new report from research group SuperData, the much-crazed battle royale game marked October as its “biggest month ever” by selling another 5 million copies in the period.

It should be noted that PUBG was already averaging the same figure sold every month for the past several months. 10 million copies were sold by early September, and 15 million copies were confirmed to have been sold by early October. This figure then went on to hit 20 million copies in early November.

PUBG came out as the second-most grossing title on PC for the month of October. The number one spot was maintained, like always, by League of Legends. Destiny 2 managed an impressive fourth-place, with World of Warcraft showing improvements by climbing up to the seventh rung.

It was a couple of weeks back when word surfaced that PUBG had sold more than 22 million copies. Considering the shopping craze for the holiday season, it is likely that the game will manage to achieve another 5 million sales for November if not more.

The upcoming winter sale on Steam, as well as the impending release on Xbox One, will heavily contribute to further sales for the game. This is one success story that will not be forgotten for years to come.
