The inventor who needs your help is Professor Andrew Bell III. He can be found towards the outskirts of Saint Denis (North) and asks you for a lot of Moonshine, which he needs for his scientific experiments.

You will need to have completed The Joys of Civilization, as it is a pre-requisite for this stranger mission.

Go to Alden, the Train Station Clerk, he will be able to provide you with a little information as to where to find some Moonshine. You will get a hot tip, that you can use to get yourself a coach full of Moonshine.

Now that you have the tip, you will find yourself at the North of Saint Denis, there’s a bridge here, and you should wait for the incoming coach. Kill everyone aboard the coach and bring said coach back to the professor.

Andrew will now inform you that he has been working on an Electric Chair, and to test it he needs your help in getting a permit.

You will now find yourself at the Sherriff’s Office, where you can get the permit for a total of hundred dollars. Go back to the professor and give him the good news regarding the permit.

You will now be asked to get a test subject for the trusty Electric Chair. Andrew will tell you about Wilson McDaniels who is a criminal and perfect to be electrocuted. You will find Andrew located North with other outlaws.

Be careful of the fact that Wilson will try and escape on a horse, when he does, simply ignore all the other criminals, chase him down and hogtie him. Afterward, bring him to Andrew so that he may meet his fate.

Now, Wilson will be tied to the Electric Chair in Northern Saint Denis, close to the Graveyard.

As Andrew turns on the machine, Wilson does not die instantly, and instead, he suffers. Unfortunately, Andrew meets a quick end as well.

You can loot Andrew’s body to get the blueprints for the Electric Chair. And by this point, you will have completed The Mercies of Knowledge and witnessed a slow agonizing death.
