Red Dead Redemption 2 STADIA Has Less Latency Than Xbox One X

Google STADIA is now available and the service continues to generate doubts among some users. Among the questions that continue to generate doubts is a fundamental fact for every player: do the titles respond quickly? That is, does some kind of lag occur when handling the game because it is running in the cloud and not on hardware next to our TV?

A technical analysis shows that the STADIA version of Red Dead Redemption 2 has less latency than the Xbox One X version.

Although there have been no criticisms because STADIA does not fulfill (at least, not yet) the promise of 4K graphics and the Rockstar game is rendered at 1440p and then rescaled to 4K, running at 30 images per second, it seems that the promises about the good response to control is effective.

The video analysis offered by Digital Foundry shows that users enjoy a competent version in STADIA when compared to other systems. But, no doubt, the results related to control are surprising.

In the graphic section the results vary in comparison with Xbox One X, taking advantage in some sections and losing in others. However, when it comes to the latency in the response time to the presses on the control knob, it turns out that STADIA comes out with advantage: the response time is shorter in STADIA with Red Dead Redemption 2 if we take the console as a reference.

  • PC: 355 milliseconds
  • Stadia: 385 milliseconds
  • Xbox One X: 435 milliseconds

As we see, the PC is still the best platform to play Red Dead Redemption 2 (also in the graphic section, provided that our hardware allows us to squeeze the maximum configuration of the title), and STADIA is located in an orbit close to Xbox One X, although the service Google gives has surprisingly better results in response to control.

In other news, Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC had a launch with several issues. Fortunately, Rockstar Games has been aware of the situation and they are working to stop that from being a problem. This effort has resulted in some updates for the port. However, the company’s work is not over.

Through a statement that they shared on Twitter, Rockstar Games mentioned that in the last week they have been working to correct the problems that negatively impacted the launch of Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC. The result is that they have already released updates for the game and the Rockstar Games Launcher that have corrected some of them.

Unfortunately, the reality is that there are still players who have problems with Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC. Rockstar believes that several of these problems are the fault of an error related to a combination of certain drivers with certain Nvidia graphics cards and some processors. This is why they are already working with Nvidia in search of a solution.

In the statement, Rockstar Games also announced that they will launch a new update for Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC. It is a patch that will solve the problem that prevents the action from looking fluid all the time.

I remind you that Red Dead Redemption 2 is available on PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Google Stadia.
