Red Barrels Revealed Sales Figures For Outlast, Also Discussed Issues With The Game’s Ending

Developer Red Barrels have revealed the sales figures for the original Outlast game and also discussed the issues with the game's ending.

Outlast is known as one of the best horror games, so it comes as no surprise that developers Red Barrels decided to make a sequel to it. While the game was liked by both critics and gamers, the game was also a financial success too, however, the developer never shared any specific sales figures.

Now the developers has revealed the the sales figures for Outlast and also discussed the issues with the game’s ending and the reasons why the climax of the game was somewhat lackluster. Speaking with Playstationlifestyle, Red Barrels President Philippe Morin revealed that Outlast sold over 4 million units, which was more then what they dreamed.

He also said that the issue with the ending was that the development team ran of time to stage it well.

think the main issue with the ending was that we simply ran out of time to stage it well. It was a tricky ending to pull off and it should have been tackled a lot sooner in development.

Outlast 2 is currently in development for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4, and the developers has also announced the PlayStation 4 Pro support for Outlast 2.

While the game is set to arrive in 2017, but it is not the only first person survival horror to drop in 2017, as Resident Evil 7 will launch early next year for PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4.
