Ready at Dawn is Working on a New AAA Game for Console, Is it The Order 2?

The Order 1886 developer Ready at Dawn has unveiled that the they are working on a new AAA game for console, which is expected to be The Order 2.

Ready at Dawn is working on a new AAA console game alongside other projects. This information was confirmed by Ru Weerasuriya, CEO and Creative Director at Ready at Dawn. The CEO sat down for an interview with VentureBeat recently to talk about some exciting things happening at the studio.

The developer is known for The Order 1886 on Sony’s PlayStation 4, which received mixed reviews from critics. Since then, the studio has been quiet about its upcoming AAA project until now. Weerasuriya revealed that the studio will use the lessons learned from its VR games like Lone Echo to contribute towards this mysterious project.

Afterward, Weerasuriya confirmed that this upcoming project (rumored to be The Order 2) is in the works. Unfortunately, the studio is not yet ready to reveal the identity of this new project because it’s still in the early phase of development.

No, not yet. It’s incubating internally. It’s in the prototype phase, where we’re building a lot of things internally. We’re funding it ourselves right now. It’s been a lot of fun taking some of those lessons and bouncing them back and forth between the two projects.

As expected, the interviewer took the opportunity to ask the studio if this upcoming project is The Order 2 (The Order 1886 sequel) or not, to which the CEO replied with neither a yes or no.

That’s a bigger question. Soon enough we’ll be able to talk about it, hopefully. As you might imagine, we get that question quite a lot.

Apparently, it’s a sequel to The Order 1866 according to the fans. The developer is committed to not disappoint anyone again considering the time they are taking to push out another AAA game.

Personally, I will love to play another AAA game developed by Ready at Dawn, especially if the game is The Order 2. That’s because The Order 1886 was stunning in terms of visuals. Keeping that in mind,  we can just wonder what the developer can do to impress the fans with their upcoming game. Of course, the upcoming game has to be lengthy, unlike The Order 1886.

It seems like we are not going to get our hands on this mysterious game until the launch of next-generation consoles by Sony and Microsoft.

The CEO says that the studio is growing and will soon split into Ready at Dawn VR and Ready at Dawn console. In short, the studio is in better shape than ever so it’s expected that they will soon pump out new games for the console platform.
