Rainbow Six Siege to Receive Visual Tweaks Ahead of Asia Release

Ubisoft has officially announced that Rainbow Six Siege is going to receive various visual tweaks ahead of its release in Asia. Soon all the players of the game will see different and small changes in the game as it’s being done to all versions to avoid maintaining two parallel builds.

We are currently working towards preparing Rainbow Six Siege for expansion into Asian territories. As such, there will be some adjustments made to our maps and icons to ensure compliance. None of these changes will have an impact on gameplay.

Making these changes across all the different versions of the game will ease the development team. The team will not have two work for different builds either. Though don’t worry, these changes are only limited to the visuals of the game. These changes are being made to icons referring to violence, death, skulls, bets, blood, and sex.

Ubisoft has also shared some images to show the before and after images. Slot machines are being removed from the game, blood from walls and some icon changes as well. Melee icon now shows a punch instead of a knife.

This seems most likely because of the release in China. China has very strict policies when it comes to video games. People are not liking this change and Reddit is currently full of arguments on these changes.

Ubisoft is obviously doing this with a business point of view. R6S is one of best strategic games out there and after releasing in Asia, it’ll receive a massive boost in players and sales. Though, Ubisoft should have kept the previous loyal player base in mind before implementing these changes.

In other news, we are not going to see Rainbow Six Seige cross-play support anytime soon. Since Sony allowed it, every player of the game was expecting it to be one of the first games to allow this feature due to the massive player base.

There are no plans for crossplay at this time, but we are always open to improving the Rainbow experience.

Rainbow Six Seige is now available to play on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
