PS4’s The Best Seller For The Month Of Feb, NPD Report Leak Suggests

This might be nothing new, for the audience, anyone who is a console user certainly knows that PS4 has been outselling Xbox One with a hefty gap. With the new leak of the NPD Report, we now know for certain that, for the month of February 2018, PS4 has been the best seller, leaving behind Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and every other console.

Very recently someone leaked the information on Reddit, regarding the NPD report, which apparently suggests that the PS4 console has nailed down the market in the month of February. Considering if the leak is true, then this is pretty interesting.

Based on the leak, the relative sales volumes of game hardware, that also includes the SNES classic was like:

  • PS4: 1.3
  • Xbox One: 1.11
  • Nintendo Switch: 1
  • Others: 0.49
  • 3DS: 0.37

What’s interesting is that PS4 has a lead of over 30% compared to Switch. All of the users know that Nintendo Switch has been having a great time with its sales. It did not struggle much, rather very recently if you guys would remember, Switch sales exceeded the Wii U’s lifetime sales.

In fact, Switch has been giving a very tough time to Xbox One as well. Be that as it may, another report that emerged a little while back suggested that PS4 will reach 69 million units and Xbox one 39 by 2019. Of course, based on the current projections, apparently, it seems to be turning true.

Now based on this NPD Report leak, game hardware sales volume in the US was up 38% for the month of February and software sales volume was up 5%. That said, we would still urge you guys to take this leak with a grain of salt until we have the official NPD Report.

Well, if we are talking about PlayStation then you guys might have head the sound of PS5 in the atmosphere? We have been having a lot of news, leaks, and rumors surrounding PS5 for quite some time now. Apparently, it seems that PS5 may not too be far off.

We recently have had, NPD analyst Mat Piscatella said that he expects the PlayStation 5 to launch in 2020. On the other hand, we have also had the industry insider, Marcus Sellars claim, that the PlayStation 5 dev kits are out to a third party developer. So it pretty much seems that PS5 may be pretty close than we expect it to be.

That said what are your thought on the NPD Report leak? Have you been expecting PS4 to do this much better? Let us know in the comments below.
